Three Common Packing Machine Problems and How Zhirobopack Helps Solve Them

Packing is a key production step that covers filling, wrapping and sealing, together with the upstream and downstream stages such as cleaning, stacking and de-stacking. In many cases it also includes measuring and printing information on the package. Using packing machinery improves output, reduces manual workload, supports large-scale production and helps meet hygiene requirements.

Packing machines can be grouped in different ways: single-function or multi-function, inner or outer packing, dedicated or general-purpose, and semi-automatic or fully automatic.

During daily use, operators may meet several common problems. As a professional food packing machine manufacturer, Zhirobopack shares three typical issues and the practical solutions below, so that production teams can troubleshoot quickly and keep lines running.

01 — Shrink Packing Machine Heats Up Slowly or Cannot Reach a High Temperature

Symptom: The shrink packing machine warms up slowly, or the temperature cannot be raised to about 160 degrees Celsius or above.

Cause and solution: The heating circuit normally runs from the main power supply through a magnetic switch to the heating tube. First, check each contact point of the magnetic switch. If the current does not pass through one of the phases, the problem described above may appear. When the magnetic switch is normal, check the meter and compare the ohm value of each phase with the machine's reading. Under normal conditions the value should indicate a short circuit. If all phases are connected but the wiring or heating tube remains abnormal, the heater needs to be replaced.

02 — Film Runs Off-Center and Cannot Feed Normally

Symptom: During operation the film shifts to one side and normal feeding becomes difficult.

Solution: If the film keeps drifting after adjusting the film roll position and the tension balance bar, try adjusting the angle of the upper triangle plate. When the upper layer of film drifts away from the clamping chain, turn the upper triangle plate clockwise. When the lower layer of film drifts away from the clamping chain, turn the upper triangle plate counter-clockwise.

03 — Eye Sensor Cannot Detect the Product in a 6-Bottle Multi-Pack

Symptom: When packing a multi-pack of six bottles, the eye sensor cannot detect the product, and the machine may cut into the packages during operation.

Solution: The gaps between the bottles in a multi-pack can affect how the eye sensor detects the product. Adjust the horizontal eye sensor detection angle to a slanted angle. After adjustment, the sensor is less likely to detect the gaps between the bottles, which reduces the risk of unwanted cutting during production.

Quick Troubleshooting Reference

Problem Typical Symptom Quick Fix
Slow heating / low temperature Cannot reach about 160°C Check magnetic switch contacts, meter and ohm value; replace heater if abnormal
Off-center film feeding Film drifts to one side Adjust the upper triangle plate angle (clockwise / counter-clockwise)
Eye sensor misses product Machine cuts into 6-bottle packs Set the eye sensor to a slanted detection angle
